Using STQRY Signage

What Signage is and how it fits together

  • Explain what a customer does in STQRY Builder and what the app on the display does
  • List the five things a Signage setup is made of, and the four kinds of content a display can show
  • Explain the difference between Signage - Basic and Signage - Standard
  • Say which hardware we support and which we don't

Set up in Builder, played on the display

  • STQRY Builder: where you upload media and decide what plays

Who are Happy Pedals?

  • Our demo app: a bike rental shop
  • Shop counter: a schedule through the trading day
  • Shuttle van: a location program that follows the van

What does a customer build?

A customer builds up the content their displays will play. That can be a single media item, a playlist, content played on a schedule, or content played at different locations (triggered by GPS).

Each display gets one thing to play

A display can be assigned only one thing at a time.

Which license do they need?

  • $15 Standard, adds location programs
  • Free The first display, on either tier

Check your understanding

  1. A museum wants different loops before and after lunch. What goes on the display?
  2. What's the difference between an activation key and a license?
  3. A tour operator asks for BrightSign players. What do you say?
  1. A schedule, with the two playlists placed in it as time blocks. A display holds one piece of content, so two playlists can't both be assigned to it.
  2. The activation key is the six-character code that identifies a display. The license is the paid entitlement the display uses from the account's pool.
  3. BrightSign isn't supported yet. Post it in #product-knowledge, because we can most likely add support. In the meantime, a Fire TV Stick or Android TV box on the panel's HDMI input works today. It costs less than a player box, too. For a moving vehicle they'll also want Signage - Standard.
